东北财经大学成功举办“IAER Microeconomics Workshop 2024”

6月25日至26日,东北财经大学成功举办“IAER Microeconomics Workshop 2024”。此次会议由学校高等经济研究院、经济学院、科研处联合主办,吸引了校内外师生共40余人次参会。与会嘉宾围绕“行为实验与决策科学”主题,深入探讨并交流了田野实验、风险偏好、劳动力市场、激励问题等领域的行为经济学前沿问题。
东北财经大学党委副书记齐鹰飞致开幕辞。他代表学校对华盛顿大学温泉教授发起此次会议表示诚挚感谢,对与会专家、校内外师生表示热烈欢迎,期望与会师生能够借此机会深入交流,共同推动微观经济学在中国的发展,期望大家以各种方式和途径支持东北财经大学的学科建设。温泉教授代表组委会对东北财经大学举办微观经济学国际研讨会表示感谢,对主旨演讲嘉宾、特邀嘉宾和与会师生表示欢迎。开幕式由高等经济研究院副院长胡蓉主持。
在为期两天的会议中,加州大学圣地亚哥分校Rady管理学院Uri Gneezy教授作了题为“Stakes & Mistakes”的主旨演讲,探讨了与激励机制、假想收益及欺骗行为相关的最新研究。阿肯色大学Sam M. Walton商学院Sherry Li教授发表了题为“Risk Preference, Investment Decision, and Household Welfare: Evidence from a Microcredit Experiment in Bangladesh”的主旨演讲,讨论了在孟加拉国进行的关于家庭风险偏好与小额信贷相关的田野实验。
会议还邀请了深圳大学李景景副教授和华中科技大学的郑金迪讲师,分别作了题为“The Hidden Costs of Choice in the Labor Market”“The Welfare Effect of Information Provision at Workplace: An Experimental Study”的特邀报告。东北财经大学高等经济研究院王童副教授、王玄烨助理教授、王兴华副教授、张翠玲助理教授、Jin Sohn副教授、赵书辰副教授在会议上分享了他们的最新研究成果。
“IAER Microeconomics Workshop 2024”是东北财经大学举办的首届IAER微观经济学国际研讨会。此次会议的成功举办,不仅为师生提供了拓宽学术视野、提升研究水平的宝贵机会,也为行为实验与决策科学的研究与发展注入了新的活力,对学校开展国际学术交流与合作、全面建成“国际知名、财经特色突出的高水平研究型大学”起到积极推动作用。
DUFE Held IAER Microeconomics Workshop 2024

IAER Microeconomics Workshop 2024 was held by the Institute for Advanced Economic Research (IAER), School of Economics, and Office of Academic Research of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics on June 25 to 26, 2024. This conference attracted over 40 participants, including faculty and students from both inside and outside the university. The theme of the conference, "Behavioral Experiments and Decision Science," provided a platform for in-depth discussions and exchanges on frontier issues in behavioral economics, such as field experiments, risk preferences, labor markets, and incentive issues.
Yingfei Qi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of DUFE, delivered the opening speech. On behalf of the university, he expressed sincere gratitude to Professor Quan Wen from the University of Washington for initiating the conference and warmly welcomed the attending experts, faculty, and students. He hoped that the participants could take this opportunity to engage in deep exchanges and jointly promote the development of microeconomics in China. He also encouraged everyone to support the discipline construction of DUFE in various ways. On behalf of the organizing committee, Professor Quan Wen thanked DUFE for hosting the international microeconomics workshop and welcomed the keynote speakers, special guests, and participating faculty and students. The opening ceremony was hosted by Rong Hu, Vice Director of IAER@DUFE.
During the two-day conference, Professor Uri Gneezy from the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego, delivered a keynote speech titled "Stakes & Mistakes," discussing the latest research related to incentive mechanisms, hypothetical earnings, and deceptive behavior. Professor Sherry Li from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas gave a keynote speech titled "Risk Preference, Investment Decision, and Household Welfare: Evidence from a Microcredit Experiment in Bangladesh," discussing a field experiment on household risk preferences and microcredit in Bangladesh.
The conference also invited Associate Professor King King Li from Shenzhen University and Assistant Professor Jindi Zheng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, who respectively delivered invited reports titled "The Hidden Costs of Choice in the Labor Market" and "The Welfare Effect of Information Provision at Workplace: An Experimental Study." Associate Professors Tong Wang, Xinghua Wang, Jin Sohn, Shuchen Zhao, and Assistant Professor Xuanye Wang and Cuiling Zhang from IAER@DUFE shared their latest research findings at the workshop.
The "IAER Microeconomics Workshop 2024" is the first IAER international microeconomics workshop hosted by DUFE. The successful hosting of this conference not only provided faculty and students with a valuable opportunity to broaden their academic horizons and enhance their research capabilities, but also injected new vitality into the research and development of behavioral experiments and decision science. The conference played an active role in promoting international academic exchanges and cooperation at DUFE, building an internationally renowned high-level academic exchange platform, and advancing the university's "Double First-Class" initiative.
