东北财经大学成功举办“IAER Econometrics Workshop 2023”

6月27日至28日，由东北财经大学筹划，华盛顿大学范延琴教授、东北财经大学王维国教授与新加坡管理大学余俊教授联合发起的“IAER Econometrics Workshop 2023”成功举办。校内外中青年教师和研究生共150余人次参加了此次研讨会。

东北财经大学副校长齐鹰飞致开幕词。他代表学校对到会的专家、老师和同学表示欢迎，感谢大家对本次会议的支持，希望大家能够借此会议加强交流，推进计量经济学研究。开幕式由东北财经大学高等经济研究院副院长胡蓉主持。

本届研讨会共分为八个单元，涉及时间序列、面板数据、机器学习、空间计量经济学、金融计量经济学等领域。26位国际计量经济学界顶尖学者和年轻学者报告了计量经济学前沿研究成果。香港中文大学艾春荣教授，堪萨斯大学蔡宗武教授，耶鲁大学陈晓红教授，伦敦大学学院、纽约大学Timothy CHRISTENSEN教授， 中国科学院、中国科学院大学洪永淼教授，塞浦路斯大学Ioannis KASPARIS教授，上海财经大学、俄亥俄州立大学李龙飞教授，香港中文大学刘睿轩教授, 南安普顿大学Tassos MAGDALINOS教授， 南加州大学Hyungsik Roger MOON教授，南方科技大学邵启满教授，伊利诺伊大学厄巴纳-香槟分校邵晓峰教授等 12位专家应邀参加了本届研讨会并报告论文。本届研讨会面向国内外计量经济学者征稿，共有14篇论文入选。

东北财经大学原副校长王维国致闭幕词。他代表学校向与会专家表示感谢，回顾了IAER计量经济学国际研讨会的发展历程，肯定了本届研讨会对提升东北财经大学学术研究国际化以及数量经济学学科国际影响力的积极作用。

IAER  Econometrics Workshop 2023是各方深入交流、扩大合作后举办的一次高水平学术会议。作为我校开展国际学术合作的重要组成部分，本届研讨会为校内外师生提供了拓宽学术视野、提高创新能力的难得机遇，对我校加强海内外学术交流合作，促进计量经济学在中国的新发展和新应用具有推动作用。

DUFE Held IAER Econometrics Workshop 2023

IAER Econometrics Workshop 2023, sponsored by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) and co-organized by Professor Yanqin FAN from University of Washington, Professor Weiguo WANG from DUFE, and Professor Jun YU from Singapore Management University, was held on June 27-28, 2023. More than 150 scholars and graduate students attended the Workshop.

Yingfei QI, the Vice President of DUFE, delivered the welcome speech. He welcomed the invited speakers and attendees in the Workshop, and acknowledged the efforts of invited speakers in promoting this workshop. He hoped this workshop would be a well-used opportunity to contribute to the prosperity of economic community, and stimulate the applications and development of econometrics in China. The opening ceremony were hosted by Rong HU, the Vice Director of Insitute for Advanced Economic Research (IAER), DUFE.

There are eight sessions in the Workshop, covering topics of time series, panel data, machine learning, spatial econometrics, and financial econometrics. Twenty-six distinguished and young econometricians presented their frontier research, and received constructive comments from the audiences. The Workshop invited a total of 12 top-tier econometricians to attend and present: professor Chunrong AI from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, professor Zongwu CAI from Kansas University, professor Xiaohong CHEN from Yale University, professor Timothy CHRISTENSEN from University College London and New York University, professor Yongmiao HONG from Chinese Academy of Sciences and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor Ioannis KASPARIS from University of Cyprus, professor Lung-Fei Lee, from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Ohio State University, associate professor Ruixuan LIU from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, professor Anastasios MAGDALINOS from University of Southampton, professor Hyungsik Roger MOON from University of Southern California, professor Qi-Man SHAO from Southern University of Science and Technology, and professor Xiaofeng SHAO from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Workshop called for papers from econometricians worldwide, and accepted 14 papers for the program.

Weiguo WANG, the former Vice President of DUFE, delivered the closing speech. He expressed gratitude to all the speakers for their hard work. He summarized the history of IAER Econometrics Workshop, and acknowledged the profound effect of the Workshop on promoting economic research.

The organizers of IAER Econometrics Workshop 2023 made a great deal of effort to hold a high-quality economics conference that encourages greatly the communication and cooperation of researchers. As a significant component of international cooperation in academic research of DUFE, the IAER Econometrics Workshop 2023 was a valuable platform for economists to broaden the horizon in research.
