东北财经大学成功举办第六届IAER计量经济学国际研讨会

6月25日至27日,由东北财经大学筹划,华盛顿大学范延琴教授、加州大学河滨分校Aman ULLAH教授、东北财经大学王维国教授与新加坡管理大学余俊教授联合发起的第六届IAER计量经济学国际研讨会(The 6th IAER Econometrics Workshop)在线成功举办。校内外中青年教师和研究生共200余人次参加了此次研讨会。
东北财经大学党委书记肖兴志致开幕词。他代表学校对到会的专家、老师和同学表示欢迎,对各位专家以不同形式助力东北财经大学的建设发展表示感谢,并向各位专家介绍了东北财经大学的办学特色和优势,以及高等经济研究院的创建、发展与愿景,希望大家继续支持东北财经大学学科建设,推动高等经济研究院发展。
本届研讨会共分为八个单元,涉及时间序列、面板数据、机器学习、空间计量经济学、金融计量经济学等领域。29位国际计量经济学界顶尖学者和年轻学者报告了计量经济学前沿研究成果。堪萨斯大学蔡宗武教授,普林斯顿大学Matias CATTANEO教授、范剑青教授,波士顿大学Ivan FERNANDEZ-VAL教授,中国科学院、中国科学院大学洪永淼教授,英属哥伦比亚大学Hiro KASAHARA教授,俄亥俄州立大学李龙飞教授,新加坡管理大学李嘉教授,南加州大学、剑桥大学三一学院Hashem PESARAN教授,宾夕法尼亚州立大学Joris PINKSE教授,麦考瑞大学施淑萍教授,威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校史晓霞教授,英属哥伦比亚大学Kyungchul SONG教授,波士顿学院肖志杰教授,芝加哥大学修大成教授,台湾“中研院”经济研究所许育进研究员,麦吉尔大学Victoria ZINDE-WALSH教授等17位专家应邀参加了本届研讨会并报告论文。本届研讨会面向国内外计量经济学者征稿,共有12篇论文入选。
东北财经大学副校长王维国致闭幕词。他代表学校向与会专家表示感谢,回顾了IAER计量经济学国际研讨会的发展历程,肯定了本届研讨会对提升东北财经大学学术研究国际化以及数量经济学学科国际影响力的积极作用。研讨会开幕式和闭幕式由东北财经大学副校长齐鹰飞主持。
第六届IAER计量经济学国际研讨会是各方深入交流、扩大合作后举办的一次高水平学术会议。作为我校开展国际学术合作的重要组成部分,本届研讨会为校内外师生提供了拓宽学术视野、提高创新能力的难得机遇,对我校加强海内外学术交流合作,促进计量经济学在中国的新发展和新应用具有推动作用。
DUFE Held the 6th IAER Econometrics Workshop

The 6th IAER Econometrics Workshop, sponsored by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) and co-organized by Professor Yanqin FAN from University of Washington, Professor Aman ULLAH from University of California at Riverside, Professor Weiguo WANG from DUFE, and Professor Jun YU from Singapore Management University, was held online on June 25-27, 2022. More than 200 scholars and graduate students attended the Workshop.
Xingzhi XIAO, the Secretary of the Party Committee of DUFE, delivered the opening speech. He welcomed the invited speakers and attendees in the Workshop, and acknowledged the efforts of invited speakers in promoting the research strengths of DUFE during the past years. He introduced advantage fields of DUFE and the foundation, development, and vision of the Institute for Advanced Economic Research (IAER), hoping that they will continuously support the development of the IAER Econometrics Workshop, IAER and DUFE in the future.
There are eight sessions in the Workshop, covering topics of time series, panel data, machine learning, spatial econometrics, and financial econometrics. Twenty-nine distinguished and young econometricians presented their frontier research, and received constructive comments from the audiences. The Workshop invited a total of seventeen top-tier econometricians to attend and present: Professor Zongwu CAI from University of Kansas, Professor Matias CATTANEO and Professor Jianqing FAN from Princeton University, Professor Ivan FERNANDEZ-VAL from Boston University, Professor Yongmiao HONG from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Sciences, Research Fellow Yu-Chin HSU from Academia Sinica, Professor Hiro KASAHARA from University of British Columbia, Professor Lung-Fei LEE from The Ohio State University, Professor Jia LI from Singapore Management University, Professor Hashem PESARAN from University of Southern California and Trinity College, Cambridge, Professor Joris PINKSE from Penn State University, Professor Shuping SHI from Macquarie University, Professor Xiaoxia SHI from University of Wisconsin-Madison, Professor Kyungchul SONG from University of British Columbia, Professor Zhijie XIAO from Boston College, Professor Dacheng XIU from University of Chicago, and Professor Victoria ZINDE-WALSH from McGill University. The Workshop called for papers from econometricians worldwide, and accepted 12 papers for the program.
Weiguo WANG, the Vice President of DUFE, delivered the closing speech. He expressed gratitude to all the speakers for their hard work. He summarized the history of IAER Econometrics Workshop, and acknowledged the profound effect of the Workshop on increasing the volume of academic activities as well as raising the worldwide reputation of IAER in economic research. The opening ceremony and the closing ceremony were hosted by Yingfei QI, the Vice President of DUFE.
The organizers of the 6th IAER Econometrics Workshop made a great deal of effort to hold a high-quality economics conference that encourages greatly the communication and cooperation of researchers. As a significant component of international cooperation in academic research of DUFE, the 6th IAER Econometrics Workshop was a valuable platform for economists to broaden the horizon in research, and promote the applications and development of econometrics in China.
