我校成功举办第五届东北计量经济学国际研讨会

6月25日至27日，由东北财经大学筹划，华盛顿大学范延琴教授、加州大学河滨分校Aman ULLAH教授、东北财经大学王维国教授与新加坡管理大学余俊教授联合发起的第五届东北计量经济学国际研讨会（The 5th Dongbei Econometrics Workshop）在线成功举办。校内外中青年教师和研究生共90余人参加了此次研讨会。

东北财经大学校长吕炜致开幕词。他代表东北财经大学对到会的专家、老师和同学表示欢迎，对各位专家以不同形式助力东北财经大学的建设发展表示感谢，并向各位专家介绍了高等经济研究院的创建、发展与愿景，希望大家继续支持东北计量经济学国际研讨会和东北财经大学。范延琴教授、余俊教授分别在开幕式致辞，介绍了应邀参加研讨会的嘉宾，并对他们接受会议邀请表示感谢，对高等经济研究院几年来取得的成绩表示祝贺。开幕式由东北财经大学副校长齐鹰飞主持。

本届研讨会共分为八个单元，涉及金融计量、微观计量、时间序列、机器学习、网络模型和非参、半参面板数据计量经济学等领域。26位国际计量经济学界顶尖学者和年轻学者报告了计量经济学前沿研究成果。堪萨斯大学蔡宗武教授、宾夕法尼亚大学程旭教授、马德里卡洛斯三世大学Juan Carlos ESCANCIANO教授、宾夕法尼亚州立大学Marc HENRY教授、波士顿学院Arthur LEWBEL教授、范德堡大学李彤教授、科罗拉多大学博尔德分校Carlos MARTINS-FILHO教授、华威大学Eric RENAULT教授、东京大学Katsumi SHIMOTSU教授、清华大学苏良军教授、首尔大学Yoon-Jae WHANG教授等11位专家应邀参加了本届研讨会并报告论文。本届研讨会面向国内外计量经济学者征稿，共有15篇论文入选。

东北财经大学副校长王维国致闭幕词。他代表东北财经大学对与会专家的辛勤付出表示感谢，回顾了东北计量经济学国际研讨会的发展历程，肯定了本次研讨会对我校学术研究国际化的推动作用和对提升我校应用经济学学科国际影响力与竞争力的积极作用。Aman ULLAH教授在闭幕式致辞，感谢东北财经大学提供的学术平台，并对五届研讨会进行回顾，提出了未来的展望。闭幕式由高等经济研究院副院长胡蓉主持。

第五届东北计量经济学国际研讨会是各方深入交流、扩大合作后举办的一次高水平学术会议。作为我校在学术研究领域开展国际化合作的重要组成部分，本次会议为校内外师生提供了拓宽学术视野、提高创新能力的难得机遇，对我校加强海内外学术交流合作，推动数量经济学科乃至整个经济学科提升具有重要意义。

DUFE Successfully Held the 5th Dongbei Econometrics Workshop

The 5th Dongbei Econometrics Workshop, sponsored by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) and co-organized by Professor Yanqin FAN from University of Washington, Professor Aman ULLAH from University of California at Riverside, Professor Weiguo WANG from DUFE, and Professor Jun YU from Singapore Management University, was held successfully online on June 25th-27th in 2021. More than 90 scholars and graduate students attended the Workshop.

Wei LYU, the President of DUFE, delivered the opening speech. He welcomed the invited speakers and attendees in the Workshop, and acknowledged the tremendous efforts of invited speakers in promoting the research strengths of DUFE during the past years. President LYU introduced the foundation, development and vision of the Institute for Advanced Economic Research (IAER), hoping that they will continuously support the development of the Dongbei Econometrics Workshop, IAER and DUFE in the future. Professor Yanqin FAN and Professor Jun YU respectively made an opening speech and introduced the invited speakers. They appreciate the speakers for presenting in the Workshop and congratulated the excellent performance of IAER in recent years. The opening ceremony was hosted by the Vice President of DUFE, Yingfei QI.

There are eight sessions in the Workshop, covering topics of financial econometrics, microeconometrics, time series, machine learning, network economics, and nonparametric or semiparametric panel econometrics. Twenty-six distinguished and young econometricians presented their frontier research, and received constructive comments from the audiences. The Workshop invited a total of eleven world-renowned econometricians to attend and present: Professor Zongwu CAI from University of Kansas, Professor Xu CHENG from University of Pennsylvania, Professor Juan Carlos ESCANCIANO from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Professor Marc HENRY from the Pennsylvania State University, Professor Arthur LEWBEL from Boston College, Professor Tong LI from Vanderbilt University, Professor Carlos MARTINS-FILHO from University of Colorado Boulder, Professor Eric RENAULT from University of Warwick, Professor Katsumi SHIMOTSU from University of Tokyo, Professor Liangjun SU from Tsinghua University, and Professor Yoon-Jae WHANG from Seoul National University. The Workshop called for papers from both domestic and international econometricians, and accepted 15 papers for the program.

Weiguo WANG, the Vice President of DUFE, made a closing speech. He expressed gratitude to all the speakers for their hard work. He summarized the history of Dongbei Econometrics Workshop, and acknowledged the profound effect of the Workshop on increasing the volume of academic activities as well as raising the worldwide reputation of IAER in economic research. Professor Aman ULLAH made a closing speech.  He acknowledged the success of the academic platform achieved in DUFE, looked back at the history of the Workshop, and expected a promising future for the IAER. The closing ceremony was hosted by Rong HU, the Vice Director of IAER.

The organizers of the 5th Dongbei Econometrics Workshop made a great deal of effort to hold a high-quality economic conference that encourages greatly the communication and cooperation of researchers. As a significant component of international cooperation in academic research of DUFE, the 5th Dongbei Econometrics Workshop was a valuable platform for economists to broaden the horizon in research, and a significant event in fostering the future cooperation of economic research with advanced international institutions.
